Biography
Akmal Palvanov is a banking executive with more than 15 years of experience in SME finance, capital markets and international banking relations. At Business Development Bank (BRB), he leads the Business Development Department. He is responsible for the bank's non-financial services strategy and oversees a network of 14 regional SME support centres serving more than 51,000 small and medium-sized enterprises. His work covers building the bank's ecosystem of business support services, product innovation, structured finance and partnerships with international financial institutions. It also includes the launch of Empretec Uzbekistan in partnership with UNCTAD.
Akmal holds a Master's degree in Sustainable Finance from Central Asian Green University and a Bachelor's degree in International Economic Relations from the University of World Economy and Diplomacy. He speaks Uzbek, Russian and English.
