Dr Paul Clarke is the founder of Naturally Smart, running a seven-acre permaculture holding in Mossdale, Scotland, within the Galloway and Southern Ayrshire UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. His work bridges traditional land stewardship with innovative design across food, energy, and community infrastructure, creating resilient, low-impact solutions grounded in interconnectedness between people, place, and natural processes. A former professor and international sustainable development consultant, he now works at the frontier where nature, creativity, consciousness, and artificial intelligence meet, he is convinced that as AI accelerates, our relationship with the living world deepens rather than diminishes.
