About this session
Held in Doha on the margins of the 2026 World Investment Forum (WIF) and its “Investing in AI” Track, this private breakfast roundtable will convene a curated group of stakeholders – including investors, sovereign wealth funds, DFIs, MDBs and other relevant actors – for an exchange on the investment opportunities and challenges of deploying capital into digital and AI infrastructure in emerging markets. The roundtable will create a space for a multistakeholder dialogue on the Digital and AI Infrastructure Investment Playbook and its contribution to advancing the WIF’s efforts to mobilise investment for sustainable, resilient, and inclusive development. This breakfast roundtable is intended to complement the AI Track discussions by providing an interactive setting for investors and other stakeholders to exchange views after the official sessions, and to explore practical approaches to translating emerging opportunities into investable projects. The discussion will combine brief framing remarks with a guided dialogue on how to mobilise investment for digital and AI infrastructure projects in developing countries. Participants will examine what is needed to strengthen project pipelines and investment readiness, and how the DII Catalyser can help bring together governments, capital providers, and implementation partners to unlock investment and accelerate implementation.
