Mr. Ziad Tassabehji
BIOGRAPHY
Ziad Tassabehji is Chairman of Green Wave, an accelerator for technology startups. He invests in and mentors early-stage founders building new sustainability solutions with global reach, supporting them until they are ready for institutional investors.
A seasoned entrepreneur with more than 35 years of experience, Ziad conceived Masdar in 2004 as the Abu Dhabi government’s answer to clean energy and the transition away from an oil-based economy. As Director of Investments & Innovation at Masdar until 2010, he helped launch Masdar City, the London Array offshore wind farm, Torresol, Shams 1, the Masdar Clean Tech Fund, the World Future Energy Summit and the Zayed Sustainability Prize, building a multi-billion-dollar investment portfolio for the company.
He founded Green Wave in 2010. Its investments include Rimac, now one of the world’s leading electric hypercar and EV technology companies, and Gaia GreenEnergy, the largest renewable energy company in Sri Lanka.
His current positions include Chairman of AADYAH Space Europe. Ziad studied Industrial Engineering at Texas A&M University, speaks Arabic, English, French and Portuguese, and lives in the Algarve, Portugal.
