Mr. Edgardo Alvarez

Edgardo Alvarez is Secretary General of ALIDE, the association of public development banks in Latin America and the Caribbean, and Secretary General of the World Federation of Development Finance Institutions (WFDFI), which brings together ALIDE and the leading regional associations representing Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, and member countries of the Islamic Development Bank.

He holds a degree in industrial engineering from the National University of Engineering in Peru and an MBA from ESAN. He has also completed executive education programs at the University of Piura in Peru and the Research Institute for Management Science in Delft, the Netherlands.

With more than 25 years of experience in banking, Mr. Alvarez has held leadership positions in development, investment, and commercial banking. His career includes leading public development financial institutions and serving in executive roles at private commercial banks.
