He is a prodigious Indonesian entrepreneur and technology enthusiast. Irzan was born in Jakarta, Indonesia, and displayed a keen interest in technology and computers from a young age. He graduated from the HTW Berlin, Germany with a degree in Computer Science in 2012. Before starting his own venture, Irzan had a professional background in software engineering and product management in various European tech companies such as Zalando, Rocket Internet, and Takeaway.com.

Irzan’s first foray into entrepreneurship began in 2015 with the establishment of his startup, YesBoss. YesBoss was a text-based virtual personal assistant, utilizing AI to perform tasks for users. Despite the initial success, YesBoss pivoted in 2016 to become Kata.ai, a leading AI-powered chatbot platform in Indonesia.

Under Irzan’s leadership, Kata.ai raised Series B funding in 2020, and has evolved to become an Omni Present AI company enabling businesses to automate customer engagement processes through various kinds of communication channels. Kata.ai has partnered with over 250+ prominent large enterprise customers to create tailored AI Agents, fostering more personalized interactions with customers. Kata.ai is facilitating USD 2.5B of transaction volume annually through its AI Agent platform and processed more than 3 billion conversations to date helping its customers to reduce operating costs by up to 70% and increase their conversion rate by 3x.

In addition to his role at Kata.ai, Irzan is a respected speaker and thought leader in AI, NLP, and the Indonesian tech ecosystem. He is dedicated to promoting and improving AI adoption across various industries in Indonesia and Southeast Asia.
