About this session
Investing in the future requires coherent trade and investment policies that enable developing economies to remain on a path of sustainable growth. However, as capital allocation becomes increasingly shaped by geopolitical considerations and trade policies shift rapidly, developing economies must navigate an uncertain landscape in which trade and investment policies are not always aligned. Against this backdrop, the session will examine how developing economies can strengthen their participation in global value chains by aligning trade and investment policies. Greater coherence between these two areas can help attract capital and knowledge by creating new opportunities through trade and investment facilitation reforms, a more competitive, business-oriented regulatory environment, and improved market access.
