The Case for Connecting Africa to Itself: Turning Distance into Opportunity, and Connectivity into Growth

Across Europe, the Americas, Asia and the Middle East, flying a 1,500km journey can take as little as 2.5 hours. Across 11 sampled African routes without non-stop services, journeys took up to 7 hours, with the cheapest airfares costing around six times as much. SMEs, Traders, Students, Tourists and Investors pay the price. MojaAir, an African ultra low-cost airline initiative sponsored and promoted by Briteque Ltd, aims to change this through affordable airfares and direct regional connectivity. We present the market opportunity, our model, an evidence-led funding pathway and the partnerships needed to turn distance into opportunity and connectivity into growth.
