Prof. Benedict Okey Oramah

Prof. Benedict O. Oramah is the President and Chairman of the Board of Directors at Afreximbank. He has expanded the bank's global presence and played a pivotal role in advancing the African Continental Free Trade Agreement. Under his leadership, Afreximbank supports standardized practices and quality infrastructure across the continent. Prof. Oramah actively supports Africa's COVID-19 response, providing direct financing to mitigate the pandemic's economic impact. He also chairs the Board of Trustees for the African Union COVID-19 Response Fund, coordinating grant mobilization and medical supply distribution across Africa. He's received accolades, including awards from the Russian Federation and the Cameroonian Government, African Banker of the Year in 2017, and an Honorary Doctorate in Agricultural Economics in 2019.
