Ms. Radwa I. Kamouna
BIOGRAPHY
Mrs. Radwa Kamouna currently serves as the Head of the International Relations Department at the Promotion Sector in GAFI since August 2019. In her role, she oversees two key departments. Firstly, the General Department for International Cooperation and Organizations, focusing on establishing institutional cooperation frameworks with both internal and external partners of GAFI. This aims to enhance bilateral cooperation, exchange expertise, and share successful experiences. Additionally, the department aims to establish effective communication channels with international and regional organizations. By doing so, GAFI can leverage the programs and technical assistance provided by these organizations to support its operations both internally and externally.
Secondly, the General Department for International Investment Agreements is responsible for updating bilateral and multilateral agreements related to promotion and protection of investments. The department ensures that GAFI remains aligned with the latest global trends in Investment and Investor Agreements (IIAs). By keeping pace with these trends, GAFI can actively contribute to the sustainable development goals, and to achieve the balance between the interests of the investor and the state’s right to regulate.
In February 2023, Mrs. Kamouna was appointed as a representative of GAFI on ANIMA's Board of Directors, where she currently serves as a vice-president. Her extensive tenure at GAFI includes various notable positions such as Director of the Aftercare Department in 2016, Director of the Promotion Sector in 2010, Senior Economic Researcher in 2004, and Economic Researcher in 1994.
Mrs. Kamouna is a highly accomplished professional with an impressive educational background. She obtained a bachelor's degree from Cairo University's Faculty of Economics and Political Sciences. In addition, she holds two diplomas in International Relations and Economics from Ain Shams University's Faculty of Law. Furthermore, she has earned an MBA from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport, as well as an investment diploma from Missouri University in the USA.
