Ms. Liz Goodwin

BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Liz Goodwin is WRI’s Senior Fellow and Director of Food Loss and Waste, also Chair of the London Waste and Recycling Board. She holds a similar role on the board of ReLondon, a partnership of the Mayor of London and boroughs aiming for a low carbon circular economy. With a chemistry background, Dr. Goodwin transitioned from ICI to environmental roles at Zeneca and Syngenta. As CEO of WRAP from 2007 to 2016, she significantly increased UK recycling rates and reduced food waste by 21%. Championing UN Sustainable Development Goal 12.3, she drives global initiatives for this goal. Dr. Goodwin chairs LWARB, a London mayoral appointment, orchestrating a path to a 65% recycling rate by 2030 and zero-carbon city transformation by 2050. In 2015, she was awarded an OBE for her services to Business Resource Efficiency and the Environment.
