Ms. Eva Steinhaus

With nearly 20 years of experience in corporate banking, Eva Steinhaus played a key role in establishing the AHK Competence Center for German Export Finance in Dubai in 2019. Covering the Middle East, North Africa, and Pakistan, the Center was launched at the initiative of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. In close cooperation with Euler Hermes, Mrs Steinhaus advises buyers of German goods in the region, German exporters, and financing banks on the Export Credit Guarantees of the Federal Republic of Germany. A qualified Arabist and graduate translator for Arabic, English and German, she also holds a degree from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) in New York. She began her banking career in project and export finance, with a particular focus on the energy sector, and has held positions in New York, Hong Kong, London, Bahrain, Qatar and the UAE. Having lived and worked in the Gulf region for many years, she has an in-depth understanding of the region’s language, culture and business environment.
