Cecilia Marocchino is a seasoned urban planner with a decade of experience spanning diverse cities in Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East. Her expertise encompasses urban food planning and management, municipal governance, and urban information systems, including urban observatories. Currently serving as an Urban Planner at FAO in Rome for over eight years, Cecilia focuses on the "Meeting Urban Food Needs" project, emphasizing the integration of food into urban planning. Her previous roles include contributions to UN HABITAT (Arab Region), Italian Development Cooperation (Ethiopia), and the UN-HABITAT/UNDP Urban Management Programme in Ecuador. As an urban food-planning expert, Cecilia plays a crucial role in addressing food systems, food security, and nutrition challenges in urban contexts.
