Mr. Sachin Kumar Sharma
BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Sachin is an Associate Professor at the Centre for WTO Studies (CWS), Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, with over 14 years of experience as an economist and agricultural trade expert. Leading a multidisciplinary team at CWS, he conducts research on agricultural subsidies, food security, sustainable development goals, and free trade agreements. Dr. Sachin provides guidance to negotiators, government officials, and farmer associations, advising on trade and agriculture matters. He prepares WTO agriculture notifications for India, contributes to proposals at the WTO, and participates in various working groups on agricultural trade and food security. Proficient in Computable General Equilibrium Modelling and econometrics, he has assessed the economic impact of FTAs and authored numerous policy briefs, reports, and studies for government ministries, international organizations, and academic institutions. Dr. Sachin is a recognized expert, presenting research at conferences, conducting training, and collaborating with national and international experts on international trade and agriculture research.
