Mr. Kaveh Zahedi

BIOGRAPHY
Kaveh Zahedi is the Director of FAO's Office of Climate Change, Biodiversity, and Environment which prompts nations and stakeholders to address the issues of climate change, biodiversity decline, and environmental damage, while maintaining a strong focus on food and agricultural sustainability. Previously, he was Deputy Executive Secretary at UN ESCAP, overseeing programs in energy, environment, disasters, finance, and more to support the 2030 Agenda. He supervised ESCAP's institutes and facilitated collaboration with UN Resident Coordinators. At UNEP, he served as Regional Director and Representative for Asia and the Pacific, driving green economy and climate change efforts. He led the development of UNEP's organization-wide climate change program, major partnerships, and UN initiatives. He holds a Master's from the Fletcher School, Tufts University, and a BSc first class degree in Economics & Geography from University College London.
