Mr. Jorge Laguna-Celis
BIOGRAPHY
Jorge Laguna-Celis leads UN Environment's One Planet Network, uniting practitioners and policymakers for SDG 12's sustainable consumption and production. He formerly directed UNEP's policymaking, engaging civil society and business. Joining UN Environment in 2014, Jorge brings two decades of multi-stakeholder process experience. He began in publishing, researched at Institut d’Estudis Catalans, worked with OECD, and joined the Mexican Foreign Service. As Deputy Chief of the Mexican Embassy in Nairobi, he was Deputy Permanent Representative to UN Environment and part of GEO-5's Advisory Panel. He led negotiations at the Rio+20 Conference, advised the President of the General Assembly on the Post-2015 Development Agenda, and authored "From Rio+20 to a New Development Agenda: Building a Bridge to a Sustainable Future." Jorge holds degrees from El Colegio de México and Sciences-Po Paris.
