Innocent Havyarimana, the CEO and Founder at GLAP Enterprises (Soap manufacturing), is passionate about community empowerment and refugees’ self-reliance, through job creation, training and mentoring the community in soap making business. Before founding GLAP Enterprises which is a successful soap manufacturing enterprise and training others in Kenya, Innocent was a chemist in his home country Burundi. Innocent’s vision is to see high numbers of refugees and host community become self-reliant and owning their businesses using local materials, through training, leading and mentoring other business community members.
Prior to his work, Innocent worked at Swisscontact, DRC, HI and GIZ as a soap trainer and business mentor. Innocent is a Burundian but he has spent the majority of his life living and working to expand GLAP Enterprises to all Kenya since 2015.
Innocent is committed to long-life learning and community work, he recently graduated with an online Bachelor’s degree in business communication from Southern Northern Hampshire University in July 2021 and is looking for a scholarship to do a Masters in the same field.
