Mr. Henry Loewendahl

Henry is CEO of Wavteq Group Limited a UK headquartered international FDI consulting firm. Henry is also Senior Consultant to fDi Intelligence, Financial Times Limited. Over the last 20 years, he has worked in over 60 countries advising over 150 governments and multinational enterprises generating over $25 billion in FDI.  He has pioneered new data sources on corporate expansion activity, location competitiveness, and investment incentives and led development of the first CRM product and first e-learning product specifically built for FDI attraction. Over 1,000 organizations subscribe to FDI database and technology products developed by Henry. As well as working with economic development organizations in Europe and North America, Henry works extensively in emerging markets. He has successfully led many projects with UNCTAD, WAIPA and the World Bank Group over the last two decades. More recently, he has also led many projects for the African Development Bank (AfDB) and Inter-American Development Bank (IADB). Henry has a Masters’ Degree in International Political Economy and a VW-sponsored PhD on German and Japanese FDI and over 100 conference presentations and publications, including “Framework for Investment Promotion” (published by UNCTAD) and “Handbook for Investment Promotion” (published by Columbia University). He has more recently published papers on FDI and investment promotion with the World Trade Organization (WTO) and Inter-American Development Bank. Henry has had a successful entrepreneurial career starting off in the FDI teams in PwC and IBM before becoming co-founder of OCO Global Ltd and founder Wavteq Group Ltd. Henry has also led several M&A deals most recently in March 2023 with the Financial Times Limited acquiring Wavteq’s product, technology and consulting business. Henry remains focused on expanding our knowledge of FDI through advancing data and working with governments globally to attract FDI.
