Mr. Gunther Berger

Mr. Beger leads UNIDO's Directorate for SDG Innovation and Economic Transformation, driving services in agro-industry, agribusiness, sustainability, fair production, and climate-aligned tech. He develops cooperation concepts, secures funding, and cultivates partnerships. Formerly Special Advisor for Agribusiness at UNIDO, he held leadership roles at Germany's Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, including Executive Director for Germany at the World Bank Group. His career spans the German Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture, and Consumer Protection, where he served as Director-General for Global Health, Private Sector, Trade, and more. Mr. Beger also contributed at the German Embassy in Moscow and the German Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture, and Forestry. He holds a Master's degree in Agricultural Economics.
