BIOGRAPHY
Dominique Burgeon, a Belgian national, brings over two decades of invaluable experience to his role as Director of the FAO Liaison Office with the United Nations in Geneva. Holding an M.Sc. in Agricultural Engineering from the State University of Gembloux and a post-graduate degree in International Relations and European Integration from the State University of Liège, his journey with FAO began in 1994. He started as an Associate Professional Officer in Syria and rapidly advanced through various positions, specializing in emergency operations and liaison roles with the United Nations in New York. His exceptional career includes serving as FAO Representative in Bangladesh, overseeing extensive programs focused on disaster risk management for food and nutrition security. Dominique Burgeon's expertise and dedication culminated in his current pivotal role, where he continues to drive global agricultural and food security initiatives with distinction.
