Mr. Benjamin Davis
BIOGRAPHY
Benjamin is the Director of the FAO Inclusive Rural Transformation and Gender Equality Division (ESP), overseeing work on rural institutions, services, social protection, gender equality, employment, tenure rights, and the right to food. ESP employs a rights-based approach to empower rural populations, improve social protection, expand rural employment options, reduce gender disparities, strengthen producer organizations, enhance tenure governance, and enhance access to resources and financial services. Benjamin's expertise lies in social protection, social policies, and agricultural economics. He previously held roles as Strategic Program Leader, Rural Poverty Reduction, and Deputy Director of the Agricultural Development Economics Division at FAO, as well as serving as a Social Policy Advisor for UNICEF and a Research Fellow at IFPRI. He holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics and a Master's in Public Policy from UC Berkeley.
