Mr. Alejandro Escobar

Alejandro, an Agricultural Economist and Systems Analyst with 25 years of experience, is the Lead Investment and Operations Officer at IDB Lab, part of the Inter-American Development Bank. He manages sustainable agriculture projects, finances farmer cooperatives, and fosters value chain development with small farmers in Latin America and the Caribbean. Previously, he worked in Du Pont's Global Supply Chain group, specializing in demand planning and financial forecasting. Alejandro also served with MEDA and the Sarona Global Investment Funds, advising agriculture export sector SMEs, cooperatives, and farmer associations in Bolivia and Peru. He collaborates with government entities, private investment funds, and chambers of commerce on agricultural support programs, and actively participates in various agricultural finance institutions. He's based in Washington DC.
