H.E. Mr. Fantino Polanco
BIOGRAPHY
Fantino Polanco is Vice Minister of Industrial Development at the Ministry of Industry, Trade and MSMEs of the Dominican Republic and serves as Acting Secretary General of the Dominican Council for Quality (CODOCA). He is a lawyer who graduated from PUCMM in Santiago in 2004. Mr. Polanco has four master’s degrees: in International Business Law from the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), Corporate Business Law from PUCMM, International Relations from I-GLOBAL, and High Public Management from the National School of Public Administration of France (L’ENA). He has 12 years of technical experience in the Dominican Republic’s government, serving as the coordinator of the industries area of the National Competitiveness Council (CNC) and as a member of the Plenary of the Trade Defense Commission (CDC). He has worked on and is a specialist in regulation and formulation of public policies for the industrial manufacturing sector. Since 2009, Mr. Polanco has been teaching at the PUCMM University in Santiago. Since 2021, he has been a teacher and academic collaborator at the Barna Management School. From 2016 to 2020, he taught in the public sector at the Diplomatic School, the National Statistics School, Proindustria, the MICM, and the MEPYD. As Vice Minister of MICM, he has promoted the actions framed in the National Industrialization Plan and has played a key role in the approval and implementation of the National Quality Policy 2021-2024.
