H.E Dr. Ali Masoud Al-Sunaidy

H.E. Dr. Ali Masoud Al-Sunaidy is the Minister of Commerce and Industry of Oman and the Deputy Chairman of The Supreme Council for Planning. He also serves as Chairman of the Oman Tourism Development Company, Omran, and is the Chairman of General Authority for SME Development and Chairman of the Al Raffd Fund. From October 2004 to February 2012, H.E. Dr. Ali Masoud Al-Sunaidy served as Minister of Sports and Affairs and Chairman of the Oman Olympic Committee. Previously, from May 1996 to October 2004, he was the Undersecretary for Commerce and Industry, of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. During the same period, he held responsibilities of Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Public Establishment for Industrial Estates, Chairman of the Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting, Chairman of the Board of Directors for Oman Cement Company SAOG, a member of the Tender Board, the Public Authority for Social Insurance, and a founding member of the National Information Technology Committee. Dr. Ali Masoud Al-Sunaidy obtained a Bachelor in Science degree with a major in industrial engineering from the University of Miami, followed by a M.Sc. in Management from the University of Bristol and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Hull
