He has led projects in the national scope, such as the Sectorial Action Plan and the Month of Innovation for the Coordinating Ministry of Production, Employment and Competitiveness (2010), the First Market Intelligence System for the Competitiveness and Industry (2009), and the Economic and Social Impact Study of the New Airport of Quito (2006).Author of over 100 academic publications, scientific conferences, and other publications in specialized economic magazines, research, cases, and academic notes. Author of the book From Shock to Action: Mindset and Indispensable Tools to Resurface and Adapt in the Midst of Chaos.
Leader and consultant of competitiveness, development, and industrial innovation projects for both private companies and Governments on local and national levels. Author of the Economic and Competitiveness Development of Quito (201%), member of the MOC Network of Competitiveness created by Michael Porter in the Harvard Business School (since 2008), and Director of the Economy Area of IDE Business School (since 2006).
In the past few years, in charge of the Association of Private Banks of Ecuador (ASOBANCA, in its Spanish acronym). He led a process of institutional transformation for this guild. He created the first system of specialized open data information in the region, DataLab. Between 2017 and 2021, he was chairman of the Financial Services Cluster, the first initiative of private sectorial competitiveness of Ecuador. Since 2019, he has been part of the Latin-American Committee of Financial Innovation of the Latin-American Bank Federation (FELABAN, in its Spanish acronym).
Expert in business matters, has been acknowledge as one of the 15 most distinguished professors of Latin-American business schools by the America Economra magazine (2012), and named as a Global Expert by the Future Agenda program, United Kingdom (2015), as well as obtaining the first place in research in Lancaster University, United Kingdom (2012).
