Dr. Tommaso Ferretti

BIOGRAPHY
Tommaso is Assistant Professor of International Business at the Telfer School of Management, University of Ottawa. He holds a Ph.D. in Management from McGill University, an LLM from Universitá di Pisa, and an MPA from LUISS University. His research is situated at the nexus of international strategy, sustainability innovation, and global governance, with an emphasis on understanding how impact investing contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in global value chains. Before his Ph.D., Tommaso worked at the International Trade Centre, a joint agency of UNCTAD and WTO in Geneva, Switzerland, where he managed projects to boost the sustainability of agro-industrial global value chains in the cocoa sector in Ghana, the iron and steel and horticulture sectors in Zimbabwe, and the coconut sector in the Caribbean Region. He still collaborates with the International Trade Centre’s Alliances for Action Program as a special advisor on SMEs’ access to impact investments.
