Dr. Julia Calvert

Julia Calvert is a Senior Lecturer in International Political Economy in the School of Social and Political Science at the University of Edinburgh. Her research and teaching interests lie at the intersection of domestic politics and international trade and investment policy. Much of her work is concerned with questions of national policy autonomy and, in particular, the capacity of low- and middle-income countries to pursue green and equitable growth. Her recent book, The Politics of Investment Treaties in Latin America (Oxford University Press) examines what leads countries to infringe on, and reform, their international investment agreements.
