Where are the most promising opportunities for co-investment between African and Middle Eastern investors today, and what would a new partnership among these funds look like going forward to turn shared investment interests into a pipeline of bankable projects and concrete transactions?

African sovereign and public investors are increasingly seeking to play a more active role in financing the continent’s development, including through co-investment and partnerships with other institutional investors. The African Sovereign Investors Forum (ASIF), which now brings together 17 African sovereign investors, provides a platform for mobilising African institutional capital towards cross-border infrastructure and other transformative projects.

This roundtable will explore how African and Middle Eastern sovereign and public investors can build on this momentum by developing practical co-investment opportunities, combining the capital, expertise and risk appetite of sovereign wealth funds, development finance institutions and development banks.
