Developing countries around the world have made huge strides in recent years to reform investment policies, rules and regulations, to streamline administrative procedures for investors, and generally to improve their investment climate in the interest of attracting investment for sustainable development and the SDGs. Often reform efforts and the implementation of investment promotion and facilitation tools have occurred with the support of development partners and international organizations, including UNCTAD.
This interactive session will give top government officials from selected countries or regions the opportunity to showcase their investment policy reforms aimed at achieving the SDGs and national development objectives. It will highlight replicable actions and initiatives and identify lessons learned to benefit policymakers and stakeholders worldwide.
