Agrifood systems challenges are unprecedented and require innovative policy choices, targeted investments and responsible governance. To help navigate the complexity, uncertainty, volatility and ambiguity of challenges and trends, the FAO foresight approach is increasingly used in long-term planning and shaping policy processes.
Session themes:
- Scenarios for agrifood technologies and innovation as inputs into long-term strategic vision, consensus-building, and policy goals.
- Findings from the foresight work of FAO and partners (research and academia, policymakers, networks and farmers’ association).
- Recommendations for the strategic allocation of resources to improve sustainability and resilience of agrifood systems.
