Implementation of Globally Recognized Sustainability Disclosure Requirements

As sustainability disclosure frameworks continue to evolve and converge, the event will examine challenges and opportunities associated with adopting international standards, strengthening reporting capacity, and ensuring high-quality, comparable, and decision-useful sustainability information. Participants will share experiences from different jurisdictions, explore lessons learned and good practices to facilitate implementation—particularly in developing economies—and discuss how sustainability reporting can enhance transparency, improve access to capital, and contribute to sustainable development objectives. The session will feature the latest work of UNCTAD’s Intergovernmental Working Group of Experts on International Standards of Accounting and Reporting (ISAR) and the experiences of the Regional Partnerships for the promotion of sustainability and SDG reporting supported by UNCTAD.
