Global Investment Promotion Conference: From Climate Priorities to Investment: Accelerating the Energy Transition Project Pipeline

Held as part of the Global Investment Promotion Conference, this panel will examine what is needed to move energy-transition projects from national plans to financial close and how governments and IPAs can strengthen the enabling environment, prepare and promote projects, and structure risk-sharing arrangements with development finance institutions. Drawing on UN Trade and Development’s new guide, Leveraging FDI to Advance National Climate Plans, and the World Investment Report 2023: Investing in Sustainable Investment for All, panelists will be invited to share practical experience, identify the obstacles that remain and highlight approaches that can help turn climate priorities into investable opportunities.
