The Enterprise Ministerial Roundtable at the World Investment Forum will connect investment and enterprise development policy. It will focus on new directions for private sector development and entrepreneurship promotion policies towards increased sustainability and inclusiveness for the attainment of the SDGs. It will emphasize efforts to boost green growth and discuss initiatives such as social enterprise and impact investment, as well as entrepreneurship for youth, women and vulnerable groups. Building on UNCTAD's Investment Policy Framework and UNCTAD's Entrepreneurship Policy Framework, the discussions will shed light on the investment and entrepreneurship policy interface.

Session themes:

  • New ways and means to not only boost foreign investment but also its linkages with the domestic economy.
  • Innovative approaches to access international finance for local entrepreneurs and micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.
  • Effective entrepreneurship development strategies to reach vulnerable or marginalized groups and to promote inclusive development.
  • Wholistic frameworks connecting investment and enterprise policies in support of private sector development and formalization programmes in developing countries.
