Effective and efficient management of public investment must play a critical role in progressing the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including by catalysing private investment for climate change mitigation and adaptation. Evidence shows that public investment management currently performs poorly, based on an analysis of 607 public financial management (PFM) assessments in the 2022 Global Report on Public Financial Management. This event considers how governments can improve their public investment management to help drive broader investment in sustainable development.
ACCA’s Public Sector Investment Conference will provide an overview of global trends in public investment management performance, based on an aggregate analysis of Public Expenditure and Financial Accountability (PEFA) assessments. The event will offer a platform for global experts to share their insights and experience on how public sector investment can be harnessed to support sustainable development. The event will provide participants with examples of good practice in aligning public investment to the SDGs.
