Critical mineral endowments offer significant opportunities for mineral-producing developing countries to attract international investment, expand local and regional value addition and support economic diversification. Yet translating mineral potential and development ambitions into investment opportunities and productive capacity remains a major challenge.

This high-level session will explore how countries can mobilize international investment and build effective partnerships to turn mineral resources into greater economic value. Bringing together perspectives from mineral-producing countries, investors and international institutions, the discussion will draw on country experiences, including from Africa and Asia, to identify promising opportunities, the conditions needed to attract investment, and the roles of governments, investors and development partners in supporting value addition and economic transformation.
