Held since 2002, the United Nations Investment Promotion Awards celebrate the exchange of best practice in investment promotion. The Awards will be presented to investment promotion agencies for excellence in promoting investment in the SDGs.
Detailed Description
UNCTAD promotes the exchange of best practices in investment promotion for the benefit of investment promotion practitioners and policy makers from developing countries. An annual activity that contributes to this exchange is UNCTAD’s investment promotion awards, which are held since 2002.
Three UNCTAD Investment Promotion Awards will be presented to investment promotion agencies (IPAs) and outward investment agencies and institutions (OIAs) for excellence in promoting investment in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Awards will pay tribute to IPAs and their governments for their achievements, but also showcase best practices in attracting investment in SDG-related projects that can inspire investment promotion practitioners in developing and developed countries.
Winners of the awards will be chosen from agencies and institutions that participate in an UNCTAD survey to be conducted in the period June-August 2018.
