Dates & Location

The World Investment Forum 2018 takes place in the Palais des Nations, Geneva, Switzerland, from Monday 22 October to Friday 26 October.


From the airport to and from Cornavin (Geneva’s main train station)

By train: The airport railway station has direct access to the airport check-in and arrivals areas. All trains stop at the Cornavin Train Station (city centre). Trains depart every 12 minutes in peak hours and the journey duration is 6 minutes.

By bus: Bus n°5 operates between Cornavin and the airport every 30 minutes. Journey duration: 20 minutes.

Free transport pass: When you arrive at Geneva’s international airport, a free public transportation pass can be obtained in the baggage claim area, lasting 80 minutes. This will enable you to reach your hotel. Additionally, when you stay in a hotel you will receive a “Geneva Transport Card” free of charge. With this card, public transport in Geneva is free for the full duration of your stay.

Taxi fares from the airport to the city centre range between 35 to 45 CHF.

To and from the Palais des Nations

From Geneva airport: Take the bus n°28 towards Jardin Botanique and stop at Appia; or alternatively take the bus n°5 towards Thônex-Vallard and stop at Nations. Journey duration: 10 – 15 minutes.

From Geneva train station: Take the tram n°15 towards the stop ‘Nations’ and get off there (the final stop); or alternatively take either the bus n°5 towards ‘Aéroport’, and stop at Nations, or the bus n°8 towards OMS, and stop at Appia. Journey duration: 10 – 15 minutes.

By taxi: When leaving the Palais, you can use a taxi stand, which is located on Route de Pregny, just 25 meters from the Pregny Gate.

Official Accreditation

Delegations representing their governments in an official capacity should contact their Permanent Mission in Geneva to ensure that the necessary accreditation procedures can be completed. A complete list of Missions in Geneva can be found here.


Depending on nationality, participants attending the Forum may require a visa to enter Switzerland.

We would advise that you make your hotel booking directly and as early as possible since hotels in Geneva can be very busy during this period.
