Mr. Zulfiqar Ali

Dr. Zulfiqar Ali is a distinguished Professor of Plant Breeding and Genetics at the University of Agriculture in Faisalabad, Pakistan. He currently serves as the Director Programs and Projects at the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan. Dr. Ali has made remarkable contributions to research, having authored over 90 papers with a high Impact Factor and 2300 citations, along with 5 books, 17 book chapters, and 4 international patents. He has supervised numerous PhD and MS students and received recognition for his academic excellence, including the HEC-Best University Teacher Award in 2020 and a Gold Medal in Biotechnology from the Pakistan Academy of Sciences in 2017. In his current role at IOFS, he is involved in strategic initiatives to enhance food security, such as developing projects for wheat development and food hubs across OIC regions, fostering sustainable agriculture, and promoting overall food security in OIC member countries.
