Mr. Sameer Sortur

Sameer Sortur is currently the Founder & Managing Partner at SquareCircle Ventures, an impact growth & investment firm. He also founded SquareCircle Global in 2014 as a platform for growth stage tech companies to accelerate and commercialize their product innovations and achieve a better product-market fit. He has over 20 years of experience in technology, strategy, corporate innovation, business development, and international market expansion. Providing B2B solutions in data and decision science analytics for manufacturing and services excellence in the Middle East and Africa.

He continues to consult to corporations in the area of innovation and operational efficiency as a Certified Corporate Innovation Specialist and Digital Transformation Expert Oil & Energy, Pharmaceuticals & Life Sciences, Aviation & Mobility, Government & Citizen Services, and Education Sectors across the MEA, India & SEA and North America.

As an AI, Deep Learning and Blockchain expert, Sameer has worked with governments, Fortune 500 companies, startups and scaleups in the fields of e-mobility, digital health, and fintech.  The Dubai Future Foundation established the Global Blockchain Council in 2015 to support Dubai's Vision for Smart Cities. He has been very active in the Future Studies Initiatives spearheaded by the Dubai Future Foundation. He shares his knowledge on Corporate Innovation, Tech Startups, and Startup Ecosystem in the GCC/MEA/SEA/North America region, having presented and chaired various global events.

He was instrumental in launching the Silicon Valley’s Founder Institute (Fi.co) Pre-Seed Accelerator’s Operations in the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) region, continues to be an Operator as its Regional Director and has  created a portfolio of 50+ global companies (as of May 2023) valued at over $50M+. To bridge the gap, he is working on rapid expansion of the FI platform in the GCC and wants to promote pre-seed entrepreneurship growth. FI is the world's largest pre-seed accelerator program dedicated to helping founders build impact-led fundable startups using technology to solve some of the biggest problems our planet is currently facing.  He continues to provide his mentorship to FI’s Global Portfolio and Startup Programs like MIT Enterprise Forum - Saudi, Pan Arab and CEE, CIIE.co, in5 Tech, STEP Conference, GITEX Future Stars, and many more.  As an Angel Investor in around a dozen B2B SaaS startups, he also serves on the boards of three companies .  He is an Advisor at Loyal VC, a Canadian VC firm investing in early stage start-ups.
