BIOGRAPHY

Kayan Akram Jaff, holds a Master’s of Science degree in Development Economics from North Carolina State University, USA and Bachelors of Science degree in Agriculture and Resource Economics from Oregon State University, USA. Mr. Jaff is currently the Senior Partnerships and Resource Mobilization Adviser at FAO’s Regional Office for the Near East and North Africa (RNE). Throughout the past 29 years, Mr. Jaff has served at FAO’s Headquarters in Rome, Regional Offices, sub–Regional Offices and Country offices with the Organization. At FAO Headquarters, he was Adviser in the Office of Decentralized Offices and Units for Private Sector and Non State Actors. He also served as an Economist in FAO’s Investment Centre funded under the World Bank’s Cooperative Programme. In the field, he was the FAO Representative in the United Arab Emirates, then Senior Policy Adviser in the Regional Office for the Near East and North Africa. He was also Deputy FAO Representative in Sudan. Prior to joining FAO, Mr. Jaff was employed in the Private Sector whereby he was the Managing Director of a large multinational Agribusiness company based in France and Turkey.
