BIOGRAPHY

Driss has over a decade of experience in renewable power project development across the Middle East Africa and Asia, including 10 years with ACWA Power. 

In his previous roles, Driss was responsible for the development and closing of a portfolio of renewable projects totalling over 3 GW and representing over 7 billion USD in capital investments. These projects spanned various technologies, including concentrated solar, solar PV, energy storage and wind power. 

Driss possesses expertise in early-stage development, tendering, technical optimization, commercial structuring, partnerships, major contracts negotiation, acquisition, and greenfield limited recourse project financing of utility-scale energy projects. 

Driss originated the green hydrogen business within ACWA Power, leading to the inception of the NEOM Green Hydrogen Project, for which he led the development activities from feasibility stage all the way to Financial Close. 

Driss holds degrees from Ecole Polytechnique in Palaiseau, France, and the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm, Sweden.
