BIOGRAPHY

Mr. Achraf BOUALI is currently the Head of OECD Istanbul Centre, which is the key regional hub of the OECD for global relations. Mr. BOUALI was appointed by the Secretary-General of the OECD in May 2022. Before holding this position, Mr. BOUALI was a Special Envoy at the World Summit on Water, Energy and Food Security in Dubai 2022. Between 2017 and 2021, he was a Member of Parliament in the Netherlands. He was the spokesperson for trade, international development, and EU Affairs. From 2001 to 2016, Mr. BOUALI was a member of the diplomatic service of the Netherlands, where he held various senior positions including serving as the Deputy Ambassador and Head of Economic Department of the Dutch Embassy in Cuba.

Mr. Achraf BOUALI holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Leiden, a Master’s degree in European Integration from the College of Europe and a Master’s degree in Public Administration and European Integration from Ecole Nationale d’Administration (ENA) in France.
