Dr. Zakaria Ahmed Hejres

Dr. Zakaria Ahmed Hejres brings a wealth of experience and expertise cultivated through his career with prominent institutions in the Kingdom of Bahrain and Multilateral Organisations. Currently, chairman of MENA investment Centre in coordination with OECD. His past work experience includes, Assistant Undersecretary for Economic Affairs in the Ministry of Finance and National Economy. Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Economic Development Board (EDB) . Chief Executive Officer of the Global Banking Corporation (GBCORP). He was board members in many organisations and banks, such as Bahrain Central Bank, National Bank of Bahrain (NBB), Bank Bahrain and Kuwait (BBK).Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company, Bahrain Telecommunication Company, Gulf Investment Corporation in Kuwait, Labour Fund ( Tamkeen). Multilateral organisations as deputy chairman or/and director in World Bank, Development Committee and G20, IMF, IDB, AMF, Arab Economic Development Fund and MENA OECD and World Investment Team. Dr. Zakaria holds a Ph.D. in Economic Development from the University of Durham, United Kingdom. He also obtained a Master›s Degree (MSc) in Economic Development from the University of Strathclyde, UK
