BIOGRAPHY

Elizabeth Yi Wang is Associated Professor of International Business at the University of Leeds, United Kingdom. She specialises in multi-level econometric modelling of behaviours of multi-unit and multi-location organisations such as multinational enterprises (MNEs) and business groups. Her current research focuses on: (1) how these organisations achieve competitive advantages by managing risk and maintaining control in internationalisation, learning, innovation, and partnerships, (2) how external pressures such as SDGs policy and ESG standards exert influence on these organisations’ operation and strategic shift, and (3) how policy interventions can be coordinated across-borders to mainstream sustainable development globally and locally. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a recipient of the Women of Achievement Award, and the founder of the Mainstreaming Impact in International Business (MIIB) Initiative. She has been invited to advise overseas institutions on strategic issues such as regional development, education, poverty alleviation, and cross-border e-commerce.
