MAIN OBSTACLES AND SOLUTIONS TO INVESTMENTS IN AFRICA
The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and affiliated institutions and the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) attach great importance to accelerating private sector engagement and investments in Africa to develop new ties and partnerships, and to help achieve sustainable development. The event will shed light on the challenges and opportunities for investment in Africa. It will highlight recent efforts pursued by the OIC and the IDB to create an environment conducive to attracting more and better foreign investments in Africa and will present the proposed OIC – UNCTAD Guiding Principles for investment Policies that can be used to assist OIC and African countries create more modern and balanced investment rules at the national and international levels.
